Owner Bio
Howdy, I’m David Janklow, founder and owner of Norse Sound Creative, LLC. I was born and raised in the great state of South Dakota and made my way to the Pacific Northwest through the U.S. Army. I’m a proud former grunt, blessed with the honor of serving my country and deploying to Iraq alongside some of the greatest men I have ever known.
After completing my military service, I transitioned into the training, gear and tech world by joining a para-military consulting firm that trained soldiers and rangers on advanced technology systems as well as equipment and gear. That work opened the door to my passion for technology, problem-solving, and creating solutions for clients with complex needs. I deployed across the world to combat zones as well as training sites internationally. Thus exposing me to new cultures, challenging environments, and responsibilities that demanded adaptability and initiative. Those experiences fueled the entrepreneurial spirit that would later define my career. During this time, I earned my Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from DeVry University and began my Master’s in Strategic Communication from the University of Iowa.
My path in digital marketing truly began in Iraq using digital platforms on the battlefield. After spending a decade training soldiers and rangers on advanced battlefield technologies and working with dedicated software programmers, this opened the door to the digital world. I spent a breif amount of time with a creative agency at this point. There, I gained hands-on experience in branding, web design, digital strategy, and helping small and mid-sized businesses find the right online solutions to meet their goals. That role made it clear: I loved using technology to help business owners grow, adapt, and succeed.
In 2017, I took the step to go out on my own and started Norse Sound Creative, never looking back. Our name honors both who we are and where we come from. “Norse,” an old Scandinavian term for “North,” reflects my proud Scandinavian heritage, while “Sound” represents our home here in the Pacific Northwest. Today, we are a combat veteran–owned and operated creative agency serving Montana, Washington, Idaho, Wyoming, Oregon and the greater Western United States.
We specialize in web design, branding, logo creation, and digital marketing solutions tailored to small businesses that need a trustworthy partner—not just another vendor. Norse Sound Creative exists to elevate the stories, identities, and success of business owners throughout the West.
On a personal note, I’m a father to three Norse-blooded Americans—Barrett, Rowan, and Samantha Jo—and the very lucky husband of my amazing wife, Shelby. After many incredible years in Washington State, our family now proudly lives and works in Three Forks, Montana, while still spending much of our time roaming Idaho, the Cascades of Washington State, and the rest of the Wild West. When we’re not working or chasing kids, you’ll find us camping, hunting, backpacking, and exploring every corner of this beautiful region we’re fortunate to call home.

We also proudly advocate for hunting conservation groups and organizations that defend and promote Second Amendment rights. These groups play an important role in preserving America’s outdoor heritage and supporting responsible, ethical stewardship of our natural resources.
