Skagit Rising, Skagit County Public Health Client Background and Vision: In 2015, the opioid crisis was identified as the main public health concern. Over the last five years, Skagit County Public Health, The Population Health Trust, and the Opioid Workgroup Leadership Team have advocated for a variety of programs, services, and policies to improve the lives of individuals impacted by substance use. One of the goals that these groups have advocated for is the creation of an interactive, virtual “hub” that would connect community members to pertinent opioid-related information and services; SkagitRising, a new opioid, and substance use resource website does just that! SkagitRising aims to provide community members with educational information, harm reduction/prevention techniques, local resources, and tips for supporting others. Navigating the behavioral health system can be challenging and many do not know where to start. SkagitRising provides accessible resources and supports to reduce stigma and the impact of substance use in our community. Project Scope: Full-service website design and development project including graphic design and user interface layouts as well as on-page SEO. The site launched as an SEO ready website.
